Roles of managers and decision makers

TheirStack can identify the roles the person hired for a job would report to - their future manager - in about 10% of jobs.

This is available in the field named manager_roles in our API, and Reports to in our UI

Accuracy of the data

Note that we can only identify the role from the job description, and we don't have the actual profiles, LinkedIn URLs or names of these people.

Note that some cases, some false positives happen and what appears in the field is not actually a role, but unrelated words. For example:

What could this be useful for?

This can help you find decision-making roles at companies. For example, it could be useful to know who is in charge of deciding what technologies are used or new products bought, because they mention those technologies in the jobs of people who would report to them.

For example, if you look for jobs mentioning Snowflake where we identified the manager, and you sell a product that integrates well with Snowflake, or substitutes it, you can get 2 things with this:

• Roles of potential user personas of your product - the job titles of those jobs
• Roles of decision makers and potential buyer personas of your product - their managers

With the roles and the company names, finding people to talk to at those companies on tools like Apollo or LinkedIn will be much easier than before.
