SIM swap, also called SIM swap fraud, scam, port‑out scam, digital SIM swap, SIM splitting, or simjacking, is an account takeover technique where attackers hijack a victim's phone number by moving it onto a SIM they control, exploiting mobile carriers' number‑porting processes that are often used as a second‑factor authentication step.
